A shop that is built every weekend

Most companies have premises that stay where they are. A stall trader’s premises fold into a van on Sunday afternoon and go up again the next Saturday morning — which is why the stall, the table and the goods on it take up most of this site.

The registered office in Lviv is where the company’s post and papers go. It is not a shop and nothing is sold there; trading happens on market pitches, deliveries go out from the van, and gift sets are made up on the stall’s own table.

These details can be checked in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities of Ukraine by the EDRPOU code, and in the Dun & Bradstreet directory by the D-U-N-S number.

The sign

The company’s mark is a stall reduced to its two essential parts: a striped canopy and the folding trestle beneath it. Everything else — the cloth, the crates, the goods — sits between those two, and both fold flat at the end of the day.

On this site it hangs from the top of every page the way a sign hangs from a canopy rail, swinging a little when the wind takes the valance.
